SIZE
The shoulder-height is about 35cm (13 1/2in) and the weight is about 7kg (15 1/21b).

COAT
The short-haired coat can be black, silver-grey, or beige, all with a black mask.

CARE REQUIRED
Attend to the facial creases now and then with the special lotion intended for this purpose. Loose hair can be easily removed with a rubber brush. When necessary, apply drops to the eyes.

CHARACTER
These straightforward, pliable, dogs are calm indoors, sociable, sensitive, have a well-developed sense of humor, are very affectionate and intelligent, and they are physically demanding of themselves. Most of them snore.

TRAINING
Train them with a gentle-handed approach. The are sensitive to the intonation of your voice, making harsh punishment unnecessary.

SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
Pugs get on well with other dogs and pets, and they behave impeccably with both children and visitors. Do not forget though that they require lots of attention and become jealous if their owner's attention goes elsewhere.

EXERCISE
In fine weather they love to romp and play out of doors. If it is very hot, do not leave them out too long and make sure they have a cool shady place where they spend the rest of the day.
