Dog Food - What should you feed your dog

1     Let's face it. Dogs will eat almost everything, even things that people think are gross. But there are foods that dogs shouldn't eat. Some foods can make them very sick. Picking the best food for your dog can be a hard decision.
 
2     There are so many different things you can pick from when you go to the store. Do you want to use canned food or dry food? Should you spend a lot of money, or is the cheaper food okay?
 
3     A good diet is very important for your pet. It keeps your pet healthy and fit. What you feed your dog early in life will affect what it eats when it is older. A puppy fed in the afternoon will like to eat then when it is an adult. Puppies that eat canned food will like that better when they are older.
 
4     Adult dogs do well eating just once or twice a day. Puppies need to be fed more often. They are growing and their bodies need more energy. No matter how old your dog is, it should have water all the time. This is especially true during the summer when it is hot.
 
5     Most dogs like canned food. It smells and tastes better to a dog than dry food. But dogs that eat dry food usually have better teeth when they get older. They are also less likely to be overweight.
